Based in Leeds, Ogden Transteel are a provider of new non prime steel tubes and pipes, and certified road plates.

They’ve supplied the engineering, manufacturing, quarrying and water well drilling industries for over 25 years.

The Challenge

Ogden Transteel, a Leeds-based company, specialising in supplying steel tubing, road plates and piling tubes for various industries, had been managing their paid ads and spending in-house. However, in October 2023, after recognising gaps in their strategy, they decided to seek a professional pay-per-click partner to drive online visibility and conversions for specific business areas.

Ogden wanted to achieve maximum ROI for their PPC. They also wanted better clarity around reporting on their ad spend and how they could improve and tweak their strategy, moving forward. 

They approached Tall Marketing with the task of refining their paid ad campaigns, intending to attain the leading edge over competitors whilst maximising their ROI.

The Solution

After some initial meetings for us to understand Ogden’s business more fully, including industry terminology, their goals and what they had been doing with their PPC to date, we went away and undertook our own research. 

This included keyword research and competitor analysis, identifying opportunities for competitive advantage. 

Using the information we had gleaned from the meetings with Ogden, plus our findings we were able to put together a more systematic PPC strategy, with clearly defined goals and a route for making adjustments where required, along the way. 

One of the first tasks we undertook was pausing their existing ads and re-building new campaigns, based on two target service areas, as agreed within strategy meetings. 

We then introduced conversion tracking to the Ogden website, using Google Tag Manager. This would enable us to track and report on specific actions that users might take on their website, to provide valuable insights.

As part of our commitment to make improvements, we provided a monthly call and clear reporting as well as responding to any email discussions.

The Results

Although, at the time of this case study, it has only been 7 months since the collaboration between Ogden and Tall Marketing, the results have been extremely positive. 

Enquiries quickly and noticeably increased, in both the service areas that we had focused on. Due to accurate reporting, they now have a much better understanding of where their enquiries are coming from and how their ad spend is performing.

Due to the success of the project, Ogden are so positive about the results that they have increased their coverage to introduce ads for a third service area. 

We look forward to a continued relationship with Ogden and to developing their PPC campaigns further.
