Google Ads Campaign Setup & Management
A Google Ads campaign is designed to help businesses get their ads in front of people as their researching your products and services. From initial setup this involves keyword research, effective ad text and accurate targeting. Google Ads isn’t guesswork, all the data we need to is available to build campaigns that work.
Once a campaign is live the ongoing management is just as important as the setup. Ad delivery needs to monitored, budgets need to be controlled and performance data needs to be reviewed. This will lead to refining the target keywords, adjusting bid strategies and testing ad copy with your landing pages.
With clear reporting and regular communication, Google Ads can become a highly measurable marketing strategy.
Understanding Google Ads
Google Ads is a form of pay-per-click advertising and is a great way to quickly start generating leads or orders through your website.
The beauty of Google Ads is that you only pay when you get a result, which in this case would be a click through to your website. Using effective targeting we can ensure your ads only appear to the most qualified users. Google Ads filtering allows you to combine location targeting and keywords to ensure your ads get in front of relevant people.
When done right, Google Ads should generate enquiries and sales, but it can be costly when not setup or managed effectively.
I can provide a Google Ads strategy that will maximise your available budget.

Why Cumbrian Businesses Invest In Google Ads
Businesses and organisations invest in Google Ads because it allows them to gain instant visibility in the search results. They can target people who are actively searching for the products and services they provide. Google Ads isn’t about advertising to people for the sake it or delivering ads that often get ignored, it positions your business in front of users a the exact moment they want to take action.
The platform allow advertisers to set their own budget, target specific geographic areas and gives the option to pause or adjust campaigns at anytime. It’s completely measurable and (when setup correctly) the reporting should show exactly how many enquiries have been generated, right back to the search term the user performed when they originally found your ads.
Google Ads Campaign Types
Search Campaigns
This most common type of campaign and is still often revered to as Google AdWords (its not called that anymore). These are text ads that appear in the search results when someone performs a search of specific keywords your campaign is targeting.
Display Campaigns
This allows advertisers to deliver image based ads across Google’s network of websites and apps. They’re usually aimed at building brand awareness or remarketing to past website visitors. Whilst the direct returns are usually quite low, it’s a great way to stay visible and reach a wider audience
Google Shopping
Designed specifically to promote eCommerce websites that allow users to buy products online. You compete with other online stores that sell similar products at the point users are researching options. The ads are image based with some main headlines. They triggered by product data (so the name, description etc) rather than targeting keywords.
Performance Max
This type of campaign brings together all ad types. It relies heavily on automation and works much more effectively when there’s good conversion data available.

FAQs
How do you charge for Google Ads management?
I commonly charge a monthly management fee which is reflective of the campaign scope and available click budget. Sometimes I may ask for campaign setup fee as this can take a lot of time up front. I may also advise on website enhancements designed to boost conversion rates – any website updates would need to be quoted for separately.
What if the campaigns aren't working?
I’d probably be the one to tell you first. I’m not here to waste anyone’s money. Being transparent and honest is important to everything I do and I regularly monitor campaigns and send a detailed report every month.
Is it the same as Google Adwords?
Google Adwords is the old name for Google Ads – its the same thing but the capability has evolved.
How quickly should I see results from Google Ads?
Your campaigns should start delivering visitors to your website straight away. However, for meaningful results to happen we first need to see some real world data of click costs and how your website is performing.
